TV3 is one of the a leading commercial television channel in Denmark, currently the third highest-rated network in the country. Recently, the channel got a new look, created by ManvsMachine in London.
The existing logo has had a slight update with a new pink colour and now appears in all graphics in the form of multiple balls. Idents feature the TV3 balls multiplying and frolicking in Danish homes.
ManvsMachine worked with Frame.dk to produce the idents, Double G Studios for the on screen graphics package and Box of Toys Audio for audio design.
"[ManvsMachine] wanted to have a magazine-like quality to the pictures of beautiful Danish homes getting flooded by TV3 logo balls.
Since the idents of course had to be live action spots but needed to have this interior mag-like quality, we needed to do things a bit different this time. Realizing that we would never be able to achieve this look with lamps and live action cameras we deviced a plan that would consist of a world class interior photographer, a team of German LIDAR (3D scanning) guys and interior stylists. By projection mapping the beautiful photoshopped stills onto the 3D scans, we could move around inside the stills as if we had a live action camera.
The balls were then simulated, rendered and composited into the shots afterwards using a mix of Maya, Cinema 4D, Vray and Nuke." - Frame.dk case study
